Nationwide Hygiene are proud to announce that we have received a Ecovadis scorecard with a scoring of 64, maintaining a silver status! As companies are becoming more aware of sustainability, the scoring has become much more competitive and will continue to do so in the future, therefore Ecovadis challenges you to continue to improve.
Ecovadis provides international corporate sustainability ratings and has developed a platform that enables companies to assess their suppliers’ performance in environmental and social responsibility worldwide.
Ecovadis has grown to become the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, creating a global network of more than 90,000+ rated companies and we are proud to be a part of it.
The score of 64 is out of 100. Each year the score you get equates to a ‘medal’. These are bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. If you achieve Platinum this means that you are in the top 1% of companies in your sector for sustainability.
There are four themes that you must prove you are active in to be able to pass Ecovadis. These are:
- Environment
- Labour & Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement.
For each theme you are asked a number of questions relating to your business and what you should have for a business of your size (based on number of employees). Your answers for these questions come in the form of Policies, Actions and Results.
Policies can include mission statements, policies, targets etc. as well as endorsement of external sustainability initiatives.
Actions include measures and actions being implemented through procedures, training and equipment, certifications and coverage of measures and actions.
Results include reporting on KPIs as well as awards etc.
When it comes to what Ecovadis deem to be more important, this is Actions and Results, these carry more weight as they prove that you are following through on
any sustainable promises and goals that you have made. However, having the correct policies in place is incredibly important and they form a base for you to build upon when implementing new strategies.
